Walker airlifted after tumble on Crib Goch, Snowdon

A 30-year-old hiker was airlifted to hospital with a suspected broken ankle after falling on Crib Goch, a narrow ridge on Snowdon, on Friday morning.

The man was part of a group of walkers when he tumbled a short distance, remaining conscious.

The group raised the alarm at around 07:25 BST and Llanberis mountain rescue team were called out.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley, Anglesey, flew him to Ysbyty Gwynedd at Bangor.
