A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man and woman were stabbed in Llandudno, Conwy.

Nigel and Margery Gibbs, who are in their 60s, are being treated for knife wounds following an incident at a property at Ffordd Dulyn on Monday.

Sean Tierney, 66, a neighbour of the couple, was remanded in custody by Llandudno magistrates to appear at Caernarfon crown court on 3 September.

North Wales Police said Mr and Mrs Gibbs were in a stable condition.

Officers had been called to the house at midday on Monday following reports of an assault.

Prosecutor Tracey Willingham told the court hearing on Wedneday that the couple had suffered serious injuries.
