Heathrow Airport: Stun guns found in pair's luggage

A father and son from Caerphilly county have been arrested after nine stun guns were seized at Heathrow Airport.

The pair aged 69 and 30 from Gelligaer were stopped after stepping off a flight from Delhi, India, at Terminal 4 on Thursday evening.

It followed the discovery of the "extremely dangerous" weapons hidden in items of luggage.

Border Force officers arrested the men and they are being questioned. They remain in custody.

Marc Owen, director of Border Force Heathrow, said stun guns are banned under the Firearms Act and that they were "extremely dangerous in the wrong hands".

The UK Border Agency said the men's journey had begun at Bangkok in Thailand.
