A man has been charged with murder following the death of a six-week-old baby.

Alfie Sullock, from Fairwater, Cardiff, died at the University Hospital of Wales in the city on 20 August.

Michael Pearce, 32, from Nelson in Caerphilly county, was initially charged with assault nearly three weeks ago.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and Gwent Police said he had now been charged.

A hearing is expected at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday.
