Mountain biker, 16, airlifted after Capel Curig fall in river

A 16-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after falling into a Snowdonia river following a crash on his mountain bike.

Emergency services were called to Capel Curig, Conwy county, after the youngster hit a tree and fell from his bike into the River Llugwy.

He was placed on a spinal board by emergency services and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

The extent of the teenager's injuries is not known.
