A55 crashes lead to traffic queues between St Asaph and Abergele

Three separate collisions in a matter of minutes have caused delays on the A55 between St Asaph and Abergele.

The emergency services were called just before 10:00 GMT on Monday to a crash involving a lorry and two cars on the westbound carriageway near Bodelwyddan.

A few minutes later another crash was reported on the eastbound carriageway and firefighters had to free a person in a third collision.

Police said there had been localised weather conditions including hail.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it took a woman with a back injury to Glan Clwyd Hospital following the collision at Bodelwyddan.

The road was fully reopened by around 13:00 GMT.
