Three pedestrians hurt in Caerleon car collision

Two men and a woman have been seriously hurt after being hit by a car whose driver left before police arrived.

The men, aged 79 and 63, and the 71-year-old woman were injured in Ponthir Road, Caerleon opposite the Roman Lodge Hotel on Saturday night after a collision with a gold Vauxhall Corsa.

The driver, a man described in his 20s, and the female passenger then left the scene.

The three injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.

Gwent Police are appealing for information.
