Missing hospital patient Ivor Evans, 72, is found

A 72-year-old man suffering from dementia who went missing from hospital in Carmarthen has been found.

Dyfed-Powys Police said Ivor Evans was found shortly before 19:00 BST on Wednesday and has been taken back to hospital for treatment.

The pensioner had left Glangwili Hospital with a bandage on his head at about 19:45 BST on Tuesday.

Officers became increasingly concerned for him and appealed for the public to check their sheds and outbuildings.

"Police can confirm that Mr Ivor Evans, missing in the Carmarthen area, has been found and taken to hospital for treatment," a police spokesman said.

"He was found in the Llanarthne area just before 7pm tonight. Police would like to thank everyone who provided information and help in the search."

On Wednesday, police dogs, a helicopter and a mountain rescue team were dispatched to search for Mr Evans.
