Motorcyclist in Gwynedd hospital after Bangor city crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash in Bangor which closed one of the main routes through the Gwynedd city.

Fire crews were called to the A4087 Caernarfon Road just after 12:05 GMT after the motorbike and car involved in the crash caught fire.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said a man in his 20s was in a stable condition at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Emergency services closed the road for nearly two hours for recovery work.

The vehicle fires also damaged the road surface in the area, which reopened to traffic just before 14:00 GMT on Monday.
