Sameena Imam disappearance: More time to quiz two men

Police have been given more time to question two men arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman disappeared on Christmas Eve.

Sameena Imam, 34, from Cardiff, was last seen outside the wholesaler Costco in Coventry where she worked at about 16:00 GMT on 24 December.

West Midlands Police are holding a man, 38, from Leicester and a man, 40, from Coventry.

Officers are continuing to search a property in Hughenden Drive, Leicester.

The force said they could continue to question the pair until later on Thursday evening.

The police have also renewed an appeal for anyone with information about Ms Imam's disappearance to come forward.

Detectives said on Wednesday they remain concerned for her safety.

"Sameena has many friends and colleagues, who have been incredibly supportive," said Det Supt Mark Payne, who is leading the investigation.

"We continue to work closely with her family as this investigation progresses."

Ms Imam lived in Cardiff and had work and family connections in London, South Yorkshire and the West Midlands.
