Welsh Water bills to fall by £5 for the average customer

The average annual household bill for water and sewerage for Welsh Water customers will fall by around £5 from April, it has been announced.

The company said price rises over the next five years would be kept at least 1% below the rate of inflation for its 1.3 million household customers.

It will take the average 2015 household bill from £440 to £435.

The company has also pledged £1.5bn on work to help improve customer service and drinking water quality.

Meanwhile, Dee Valley Water customers will see their annual bills reduced from April by £7, from £146 to £139.00 - a cut of more than 4%.
