Barratt to build 520 homes in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea
House builder Barratt Homes plans to construct more than 520 new homes in south Wales.
The firm said it planned to open four new construction sites in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.
The expansion follows a "strong recovery" in the housing market and the take up of the Help to Buy - Wales scheme which supports buyers, said bosses.
An estimated 1,000 jobs will be supported by the developments.
More than 1,200 homes have been bought using Help to Buy - Wales since its launch in January 2014.
Under the scheme the buyer has to find a deposit of at least 5%, with the Welsh government lending 20% and a mortgage covering the rest.
