Cigarettes worth £7k stolen from Llanidloes supermarket

Police are investigating after £7,000 worth of cigarettes and other tobacco products were stolen from a supermarket in Powys.

Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for information about the raid in Llanidloes on Wednesday.

People offered cheap cigarettes are also being urged to be vigilant.

Officers said a variety of products were stolen in the supermarket raid, including cigarettes, cigars and loose tobacco.

Ch Insp Martin Tavener said: "If you are approached, in pubs or on the street, please report the incident to police.

"With this amount of stock taken, it is plausible that there will be a variety of tobacco products available for sale at cheap prices."
