Boy, 5, dies, three hurt in A483 crash near Welshpool

A five-year-old boy has died and three other people have been injured in a road collision in Powys.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the collision happened on the A483 about one mile north of Welshpool at 1725 BST on Saturday.

One person was airlifted to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by air ambulance, and two others were transported in a road ambulance.

The vehicles involved were a gold Citroen Saxo and a red Nissan Qashqai.

An investigation is under way, and anyone with information can call Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.

Police sent "deepest sympathies" to the families of those involved.

No information has yet been released about their identities.
