Tribute to Penrhyncoch postman who died on his round

Tributes have been paid to a postman who collapsed and died while on his round in Ceredigion.

Peter Thompson, 45, collapsed in Penrhyncoch, near Aberystwyth, where he also lived with his family, last Friday.

It is understood Mr Thompson was pronounced dead on arrival at Bronglais Hospital nearby.

Royal Mail delivery office manager in Aberystwyth, Phil Rowley, said Mr Thompson's death was a "huge loss".

Mr Rowley said: "It's come as a total shock to us all and our thoughts are with his family at this tragic time.

"He was chirpy, cheerful and well-liked and this is a huge loss to us all."

He added that everybody would miss Mr Thompson's amiable attitude and pleasant nature.
