The case of a man charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving has been sent to crown court.

Gordon Dyche, 24, of Llanbrynmair, is charged with causing the deaths of Emyr Griffith, 66, Phyllis Hooper, 84, Peter Briscome and Liam Govier, both 14.

The family from Pontypridd died when a car plunged into Llyn Clywedog near Llanidloes, Powys, in April.

Welshpool magistrates granted Mr Dyche unconditional bail. He will appear at Mold Crown Court on 2 December.

Mr Dyche, bearded and wearing a striped jumper, stood with his hands behind his back during the court appearance on Tuesday which lasted under five minutes.
