Aber paramedic 'let member of public drive ambulance'

An Aberystwyth paramedic accused of allowing a member of the public to drive an ambulance has been disciplined.

The Welsh Ambulance Service has not revealed details of the incident or when it happened, but confirmed disciplinary action had been taken.

It is unclear if the person drove the ambulance to an emergency or to a routine call-out.

The ambulance service said action against the paramedic was ongoing.

A statement from the ambulance service said: "We can confirm that we have undertaken disciplinary action in respect of the incident and as it is currently ongoing it would be inappropriate to discuss this any further."
