Two women airlifted to hospital after Powys road crash
Firefighters have used hydraulic cutting equipment to release three people following a collision in Powys.
The crash on the A483 between Arddleen and Pool Quay near Welshpool just before 16:30 GMT involved a heavy goods vehicle, a car and a 4x4 vehicle.
Two women cut free from the car were flown to hospital by air ambulance.
A man cut free from the 4x4 vehicle was taken to hospital in Shrewsbury by road. A section of the A483 remained closed until midnight.
The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service service said crews from Welshpool and Montgomery attended the scene.
Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses.
Sgt Huw Thomas said: "This was a serious incident."
"If anyone witnessed the collision or has any information which they think is relevant, I'd ask them to please contact officers at Newtown Police Station on 101."
