Police appeal after Lampeter University sexual assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at a university campus in Lampeter, Ceredigion.

Dyfed Powys Police said she was approached by a lone man in the campus grounds. He is described as aged between 17 and 25.

Police have increased patrols in the area, and have urged anyone with information to call 101.

The incident happened at about 03:30 BST on 23 October.

Police said the man is described as 5ft 6in (168cm) to 5ft 7in (170cm) tall. He has an average build and short brown hair.

A man fitting his description was also seen at about 23:30 BST on 22 October walking along Market Street and close to Sainsbury's supermarket.

Det Insp Steve Davies said: "We are keen to speak to anybody who was out in the town during the evening who may have seen the victim or the male fitting the suspect profile or has heard anything about this incident."

Specially-trained officers are supporting the victim.
