Biker dies in crash near Forest, two more hurt at Gwbert

A motorcyclist has died in a crash involving another motorbike and a van in Carmarthenshire, say police.

The 48-year-old died in hospital in Swansea following the crash on the B4297 at Llanedi near Forest at 10:10 BST.

Meanwhile, two riders were seriously hurt when their machine collided with a truck towing a boat in Ceredigion.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the B4548 at Gwbert, near Cardigan, at 13:19 BST.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service said firefighters were called to free the two men who were trapped beneath the tow truck.

One was later airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the road, which leads to Gwbert Hotel, would remain closed until emergency services had dealt with the incident.

The force is also appealing for witnesses to the earlier fatal collision near Forest, involving two Suzuki motorcycles and a maroon Fiat Scudo van, to contact them on 101.
