Man impales cheek on metal railing in Hay-on-Wye
A man's cheek was impaled on metal railings after he stumbled in a Powys street, say police.
The incident happened in Castle Street in Hay-on-Wye while the festival took place on Monday at around 21:00 BST.
Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man, who was aged in his 50s, and he was taken by ambulance to Hereford General Hospital.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Hay and Talgarth were sent to the scene.
