New bus replaces axed service in Aberystwyth and Lampeter
A government-funded bus has replaced a route which was cut last year by Arriva.
It will travel between Aberystwyth and Carmarthen via Lampeter every hour six days a week.
The new T1 service, which will also run four times a day on a Sunday, will be part of the TrawsCymru network and operated by First Cymru.
Transport Minister Edwina Hart launched the new route on Sunday, and said: "The service will not only connect the three main towns but will also connect smaller rural communities in north Carmarthenshire and south Ceredigion providing much needed access to employment and services."
The timetable has been designed to integrate with the Bwcabus scheme in the Teifi Valley and Lampeter areas.
In December, Arriva closed Aberystwyth depot and three bus stations in mid and north Wales, with the loss of 33 jobs.
Three services were also cut and bus stations in New Quay, Lampeter and Dolgellau were also closed.
