Work starts on 'super-school' for Llandysul

Work has begun on a so-called super-school in Ceredigion.

The "all-through" school in Llandysul will teach children from aged three to 19 and is expected to open in 2016.

It has meant the merger of Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi secondary and Aberbanc, Coedybryn, Llandysul, and Pontsian primary schools.

More than 1,000 pupils will be accommodated in the two-storey school, which will have 47 classrooms, sports halls and an all-weather sports pitch.

It will be the second such school in Ceredigion, following in the footsteps of Ysgol Ffynon Bedr, which opened in 2012.
