A fisherman who fractured a 15-year-old angler's cheekbone when he attacked him with a tackle box has been ordered to pay £750 compensation.

Jamie Morris, 26, of Merthyr Tydfil, got into a row with the teenager at a Brecon Beacon's reservoir in April.

Merthyr Crown Court heard Morris hit him over the head with the box used to store hooks, floats and flies.

Morris admitted unlawful wounding and was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to pay £350 costs and a £100 victim surcharge.
