Aberystwyth's 1930s bandstand demolition is under way
Work to demolish Aberystwyth promenade's 1930s bandstand is under way to make way for a new £1.2m replacement.
Workers have started dismantling the 80-year-old structure in the past few months with the roof and walls being removed.
Elements of the existing building will remain, including its blue concrete pillars.
They will be incorporated into the new design which will sit on the same site.
Supertides in the past few days have slowed work down as waves crashed over the building and stopped demolition.
But Ceredigion council said the project remains on schedule and the new bandstand should be complete by mid-August.
