A project aimed at supporting young people most at risk of disengaging with education is up and running in Ceredigion.

The Cynnydd project will support those aged between 11 and 24-years-old improve their school attendance, attainment and behaviour.

It will also help young people into work via engagement programmes.

The project, financed by the European Social Fund, runs until February 2019.

Councillor Hag Harris, cabinet member for learning services, children and young people, said it would be of "immeasurable benefit" to young people.

"Cynnydd will be invaluable to provide young people with the skills and qualifications to gain employment locally, which will mean that our young people will not be forced to look further afield for employment," Mr Harris added.
