A 22-year-old man has admitted manslaughter after killing a man who was on a night out with his father in Flintshire.

Gafyn Denman, from Mold, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court and admitted killing Peter Jones, 24, in Buckley.

Another man, Ross Taylor, 22, of Mold, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm on Mr Jones' father, also Peter.

Denman was remanded in custody until 27 August for a pre-sentence report, while Taylor was granted conditional bail.

Mr Jones died after being attacked on 9 May.

Denman denied assaulting the man's father, and the prosecution said they intended to let the allegation lie on file.

Taylor was granted conditional bail, with a curfew, by judge Merfyn Hughes QC, and a pre-sentence report was also ordered in his case.

Earlier this month, Mr Jones' family held a sponsored walk in his memory to raise money for a hospital where he received a liver transplant, more than 20 years ago.
