Three more arrests made in Cefn Mawr post office raid

Detectives from Wrexham have arrested three more people in connection with an armed robbery at a sub-post office.

The incident at Cefn Mawr took place at just after 0930 BST on Wednesday 14 July.

A 28-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, all from Wrexham, were arrested near Pwllheli on Friday.

This brings the total of people arrested in connection with the raid to four.

A 26-year-old man was charged with robbery and possession of an imitation fire arm on 18 July.

A member of staff was injured, though not seriously, in the raid and an unknown amount of cash was taken.

North Wales Police scrambled their helicopter after the incident.

Following the latest arrests, Det Insp Dave Spencer said: "The public of North Wales should be reassured that serious offences such as this are extremely rare in the region and that all available resources will be allocated to bring the offenders to justice."
