Police say three arson attacks in Ruthin were linked

Police investigating three suspected arson attacks in Denbighshire say the incidents appear to be linked.

The incidents occurred between 2250 BST and 2320 BST on Saturday in the Upper Clwyd Street area of Ruthin.

The contents of a wood shed connected to a property were set alight, a letter box was ignited, causing "extensive" damage to a door, and washing hanging on a clothes line was also targeted.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101.

Det Sgt Bob Halford said: "Fortunately, the fires were extinguished before any serious damage or injury was caused

"However the potential for serious injury cannot be underestimated and I appeal to anyone who has information or who may have witnessed any of the incidents to contact detectives at St Asaph CID immediately."

Det Sgt Halford can also be contacted on 0845 6071001 (Welsh language) and 0845 6071002 (English).
