Inquest opens into Flintshire climber's mountain death

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a climber from Flintshire who died after falling in Snowdonia on Saturday.

A full inquest into the death of Stephen John Williamson, 59, from Northop, will be held later.

The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team were called to Cwm Lloer at about 1120 GMT after reports a man had fallen about 450ft (137m).

Rescuers said he died shortly after being airlifted by an RAF helicopter.
