Keith Rumbold, 71, accused of murder of wife, Shirley

A 71-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with murdering his wife, whose body was found at their Denbighshire home.

Keith Rumbold was arrested at their bungalow in Prestatyn on Thursday, the day Shirley Rumbold, 73, was found.

A district judge at Prestatyn transferred the case to Caernarfon Crown Court, where Mr Rumbold is due to appear on Tuesday.

Mrs Rumbold's family said she suffered from Alzheimer's for several years.

Her husband was charged with her murder late on Saturday night.

An inquest has been opened by acting coroner John Gittins, and a post-mortem examination was carried out by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers.
