A masked man robbed a gold jewellery shop in Flintshire after threatening a member of staff with a blade.

North Wales Police say a bag of jewellery was stolen from The Gold Shop, Queensferry, at 0950 BST on Tuesday.

Officers say the man was wearing tracksuit trousers, a pullover with a hood, and gloves. His face was covered.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

They say the offender approached the premises from the corner of Station Road and ran off along Chester Road West towards Shotton.

A police spokesperson said: "The offender entered the premises shortly after it opened and threatened the female member of staff with a bladed item.

"He demanded items and took a bag of jewellery. He ran from the store, putting the items into a rucksack he was carrying."
