Armed police arrest man with knife in Hightown, Wrexham

A 26-year-old man has been arrested by armed officers after threats were made with a knife in Wrexham, say police.

A police cordon remained at the scene for several hours and a fire was also brought under control.

North Wales Police said they were notified at 18:22 BST on Monday of a man with a knife making threats in the Hightown area.

The man was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital as a precaution then detained in custody, said the force.
