Plas Newydd dog warden patrols rise after dog's killing

Dog warden patrols are to be stepped up at a heritage site after a dog being walked by its owner was killed by another animal that was off its lead.

Police are investigating the attack in which a smaller dog was savaged by a larger dog in the grounds of Plas Newydd, Llangollen.

The incident happened one evening last month after the Denbighshire-council owned home had closed.

A council spokesperson said: "All dogs should be on a lead at all times."
