Appeal against Hafod quarry extension due at High Court

Environmental campaigners are due at the High Court to try and stop rubbish dumping at a Wrexham quarry.

Hafod Environmental Group hopes to overturn a change in planning consent allowing tipping at Hafod Quarry in Johnstown for a further 35 years.

Landfill began at the quarry in 2006, and he group has previously said it hopes to reduce the lifespan of the site to about five years.

The hearing, in Cardiff, is expected to last two days.
