The police watchdog is investigating after a man died while officers were at the scene of an incident in Flintshire.

Morgan Owen, 24, a soldier with the Royal Engineers who was on sick leave with a knee injury, was pronounced dead by paramedics outside his home in Buckley.

It is unclear how Mr Owen died but a post mortem examination is being held.

North Wales Police said they were called to an incident at 20:38 GMT on Monday.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) confirmed it had decided to investigate the incident.

"The IPCC has deployed its investigators to the scene and once we have more information a further statement will be issued," the police watchdog said.
