A kayaker had to be rescued by a RNLI lifeboat crew after he got into difficulty off Aberavon beach, Port Talbot.

The Port Talbot inshore lifeboat crew were called out on Saturday morning after a passer-by saw him in trouble.

They say he is lucky to be alive after being separated from his craft while fishing after conditions became rough.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to Neath Port Talbot Hospital before being later released.
