Trina Jones stole £23,000 from Denbighshire council

The personal assistant to Denbighshire's council's finance director has admitted stealing £23,000 from the local authority.

Trina Jones, 45, from Warrington, Cheshire, stole small amounts between March 2010 and February and the thefts were discovered in an internal audit.

It was a serious breach of trust and other employees came under suspicion initially, Prestatyn magistrates heard.

Magistrates committed her to Mold Crown Court for sentencing on 1 November.

Pre-sentence reports were ordered.
