A vital life-saving tool to help people in trouble off the north Wales coast has been handed over to RNLI members.

A special video camera will be used by crews on training exercises and rescues.

It is widely used by extreme sports enthusiasts and is well-suited to conditions experienced on board lifeboats.

The camera was bought by members of Prestatyn rotary club and presented at Rhyl lifeboat centre.

Coxswain Martin Jones said: "This camera will be a very useful tool to assist us with our training, and also to record our rescues on the lifeboats.

"We are extremely grateful to the Prestatyn Rotary Club for their generous gift."
