Wrexham rooftop protest and road closure end

Part of a main road in Wrexham was closed off while police tried to talk down two men who had been on the roof of a building since Wednesday morning.

Police said earlier it was not clear why they were on the roof of a Chester Street solicitor's office, throwing tiles.

A third man came down yesterday, and it follows a similar incident earlier this month.

The incident ended just after 16:30 BST on Thursday when the two men came down.

Earlier, Ch Insp Nick Evans said: "The safety of the public, police officers and the offenders is our prime concern."

"We appreciate that the situation is causing some disruption, but we would ask for the public's understanding and cooperation in allowing our trained negotiators at the scene to bring this incident to a safe and peaceful resolution."
