Two people hurt in Gwersyllt house fire

Two people have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Wrexham.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene at Penrhyn Drive, Gwersyllt, after the alarm was raised at 07:33 BST on Saturday.

Paramedics took a man aged in his 50s and a woman in her 40s to Wrexham Maelor Hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was thought to have been accidental.
