Motorcyclist and passenger injured on A55 at Holywell

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured in a crash on the A55.

The woman passenger was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the crash with a large lorry on the westbound side at Pantasaph, near Holywell, on Saturday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital at Bodelwyddan while the lorry driver was unharmed.

The road was closed for several hours.

The eastbound carriageway was also closed to allow the air ambulance to fly the injured woman to hospital in Stoke.
