Delays warning over months of road works on A55/A483
People travelling to and from Wrexham could face delays as six months of major road works get under way.
The Highways Agency is spending £5.3m re-modelling the A55/A483 roundabout outside Chester, one of the busiest routes linking north Wales and England.
Wrexham MP Ian Lucas said it would "clearly have an impact" on people living in or travelling to Wrexham.
The first phase will involve nightly closures of the A483 in both directions, with diversions operating.
Work begins on Monday and is expected to last until the end of March 2015.
Alan Shepherd, the Highways Agency's director for the north west, said: "This important project will make the junction safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists and improve journey times - helping to unlock the potential for new jobs and new homes on both sides of the border."
Mr Lucas said: "I think any fair minded person would expect some delays as work is carried out, but what is crucial is ensuring motorists know what to expect and are given information with enough time to help them to plan."
