Plans for a solar farm on agricultural land in Wrexham have been announced by a firm behind another development in Gwynedd.

Lightsource Renewable Energy Ltd wants to build a five megawatt station between Acrefair and Penycae, generating power for about 1,350 homes.

The London-based firm has yet to submit any plans to Wrexham council.

In August, it announced a larger project for Boduan between Pwllheli and Nefyn on the Llyn peninsula.

It will be holding a community information evening next week to give more details of its plans in Wrexham which include several thousand solar panels.
