Entertainer Mark John Whincup in court over drugs and images
A well-known north Wales children's entertainer has appeared in court charged with 22 offences involving indecent images of children and drugs.
Mark John Whincup, 50, who performed as "Magic Mark", was remanded in custody by Prestatyn magistrates.
Mr Whincup, of Rhos-on-Sea, also worked with CAIS, the drug and alcohol agency, on "Don't Touch, Tell", a project warning children about needles.
He will appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on December 15.
The alleged offences include nine of making indecent movies, six of distributing indecent images of children, two of possessing videos of extreme pornography, one of possessing 674 movie images and one of possessing 117 still images.
The three other charges relate to the supply of Class A drug methamphetamine - also known as crystal meth.
The alleged offences occurred between January 2012 and July 2014, although none of the images were of children with whom he had come into contact during his work as an entertainer.
