A pub in a Wrexham village could be demolished to make way for new housing.

The Brynteg Inn has been closed for two years and there are plans for eight two-bedroom homes on the site.

But 86 residents have signed a petition objecting to the plans, saying it will have an impact on homes, increase parking problems and mean the loss of a community pub.

A report to planners has said there has been "little interest or commercial incentive" to take over the pub.

Councillors will make a decision on 5 January but have been recommended to accept the proposals - which include parking bays for each house - because they will make "a positive contribution" to the area.
