North Wales Police firearms centre plan rejected

A plan by North Wales Police to hire out its firearms training centre to gun clubs and government organisations has been rejected.

It said hiring out the "high standard" facility, when it is not in use by the force or other emergency services, would help cover operating costs and save taxpayers' money.

The site at the former Craig Y Ddywart quarry, near Ruthin, opened in 1998.

Denbighshire councillors voted against the plan.
