Takeaway ban near Denbighshire schools rejected

A proposal banning takeaways from opening near schools has been rejected.

Denbighshire county councillors considered not allowing new hot food takeaway businesses to open within 400m (437 yards) of school boundaries.

They voted on Wednesday to remove this paragraph from their supplementary planning guidance on hot food takeaways.

Last year, the council carried out a consultation on the proposal as part of a move to tackle childhood obesity.
