Wrexham teacher dragged boys, 3, across floor
A nursery teacher who dragged a trio of three-year-old boys across a floor has been suspended from the classroom for two years after a disciplinary hearing.
Nichola Huxley, who taught at Park Primary School, Llay, Wrexham, was shouting and screaming at the time, an Education Workforce Council committee heard.
She blamed narcolepsy - a sleep disorder - for the incident.
But the hearing was told it amounted to unacceptable professional conduct.
The committee in Ewloe, Flintshire, found her sleep condition was not a reason for her conduct.
Two teaching assistants told the hearing about Ms Huxley's anger and said the boys were dragged over carpeted floor in separate incidents in a two-hour period.
The three boys involved had only just started school.
The hearing was told Ms Huxley had since been sacked following an investigation. She had also lost an appeal.
Chairman Peter Williams said she failed to meet the standards expected of a teacher, breaching key principles of trust and respect, and a case of unacceptable professional conduct had been proved.
