Denbighshire's Horseshoe Pass shut after fatal 250ft car fall
A woman has died after her car plunged down a mountain road above Llangollen in Denbighshire.
The Vauxhall Corsa fell around 75 metres (250 ft) down an embankment at the top of A542 Horseshoe Pass at around 10:30 BST on Monday.
Emergency services were called at around 10.45 BST, but the female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened between the B5103 at Llangollen and the A5104 at Llandegla, which remains closed.
North East Wales Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist the emergency services.
The route is popular with tourists because of its scenic views.
